Image Splitter & Grid Slicer
Cut a photo, artwork or contact sheet into a numbered grid. Preview each tile, keep every original pixel or center-crop square tiles, then download one tile or the whole set.
Image & grid
Drop one JPG, PNG or WebP. Up to 20 MiB / 8 million pixels. Animated files use a single decoded frame.
Choose an image or try the example.
Zero overlap makes tiles reassemble exactly. Full-image cells can differ by one pixel. Overlap extends cuts within the chosen image area; outer tiles may have different sizes.
Download options
ZIP includes all tiles and a layout manifest. Up to 100 tiles / 32 million total output pixels; encoded tile files limited to 50 MiB. Reverse numbering changes filenames, not their positions. Social services may crop or reorder uploads.

Using Image Splitter & Grid Slicer
Turn one image into a complete tile set with an exact layout. Preview the grid and individual tiles before choosing PNG or JPG downloads.
- Upload one JPG, PNG or WebP, or try the colorful example. Choose 1–10 rows and columns.
- Keep the entire image or center-crop equal square cells. Set overlap to zero for exact reassembly; optionally reverse filename sequence numbers.
- Select a tile for an individual download, or export the full set as a ZIP including layout.json.
Example
Split the 1200×800 example into2 rows and 3 columns for six400×400 tiles. With zero overlap, they cover the original exactly. Choose 3×3 square tiles for a centered square crop. Preview what is removed before exporting.
Questions & answers
Are images uploaded?
No. Canvas decoding, slicing and ZIP creation run in the browser. Image history is not stored. Website ads and analytics follow the privacy information.
Does full-image mode lose pixels?
With zero overlap, integer cut boundaries partition the entire source exactly. Cell sizes can differ by one pixel when dimensions do not divide evenly. No resizing is applied to exported tiles.
How are square tiles made?
The largest centered rectangle with equal whole-pixel square cells is used for the chosen rows and columns. Pixels outside that crop are removed. The preview shows the crop.
What does overlap do?
It extends each tile by up to 50 source pixels around internal cuts, bounded by the chosen crop. Outer tiles can have different sizes. Use zero for a seamless grid with no duplicated pixels.
What does reverse numbering change?
The sequence portion of filenames counts from bottom-right toward top-left. Row/column labels and actual cut positions stay unchanged. It does not publish to a social service or guarantee its upload order.
Can I keep transparency?
PNG tiles preserve transparency. JPG tiles flatten transparent pixels onto white and use the selected quality. The overview grid and labels are not included in tile images.
What is in the ZIP manifest?
Original dimensions, crop position, rows/columns/overlap, output format, ordering and each tile’s exact rectangle and filename. It helps reassemble or use the tiles in another project.
Which limits apply?
One20 MiB image,8 million source pixels,16,000 pixels per edge,1–10 rows/columns,100 tiles and 32 million total output pixels. Encoded tile files are limited to 50 MiB. Cancel export to stop encoding or ZIP work.
Are animated or vector images supported?
JPG, PNG and WebP are accepted. Animated inputs use a single decoded frame. SVG, GIF animation and multi-frame splitting are not supported by this tool.
