ZIP File Manager

Recommended

Create a ZIP from your files or inspect an archive before extracting what you need. Rename archive paths, preview small text files and download selected entries locally.

Create & extractSelected-file ZIP exportLocal text preview

1. Add your files

Up to 200 files, 20 MiB per file and 50 MiB combined. Folder upload keeps relative paths. Duplicate names get a numbered suffix; rename any path in the list before creating.

2. Choose and download

No files added yet.

Already compressed photos, audio and video often shrink little. Output must stay within 50 MiB. Highly compressible files above the supported 500:1 expansion limit need No compression. Empty folders are not included; file paths preserve their folder structure.

Add files or open an archive to begin.

Unsafe paths, filename collisions and unsupported formats are rejected. Extraction checks each selected file’s CRC32 and actual size. Legacy filename encodings are not guessed; names must be UTF-8 or ASCII. ZIP content is never executed.

Archive operations run in a cancellable browser worker using our existing local JSZip library. No uploaded processing or stored file history. Website ads and analytics follow our privacy information.

    Using ZIP File Manager

Pack files into a ZIP or inspect an archive before downloading selected content. File paths and sizes stay visible, and a small literal text preview helps you find the right entry.

    1. Choose Create a ZIP to add files or a folder. Review editable relative paths, select a compression level and create the download.
    2. Or choose Open and extract ZIP, upload an archive or try the sample. Search file paths, select matching files and review selected total size.
    3. Preview one small UTF-8 file, download one file, download selected files as a new ZIP or save the file-list JSON. Cancel an operation if needed.

    Example

Try sample files in Create mode. Rename shopping.csv to lists/shopping.csv, then create a ZIP; its path is preserved. Repeated names receive a numbered suffix when added.
Open the sample ZIP and select example.html for a literal preview. Its HTML/script text is displayed without executing. Select the notes folder’s file and download only that file or both entries as a new ZIP.

    Questions & answers

    What ZIP files are supported?

Standard STORE and DEFLATE ZIP archives with UTF-8 or ASCII filenames. Encrypted/password-protected, ZIP64, multipart, self-extracting and symbolic-link entries are unsupported. Legacy filename encodings are not guessed.

What are the file and archive limits?

Create from 1–200 files, each at most20 MiB and 50 MiB combined. Open archives up to 50 MiB with at most200 entries,20 MiB per extracted entry and 100 MiB declared total. Selected exports total at most50 MiB. Expansion above500:1 is unsupported; use No compression when creating highly compressible files.

Does folder upload keep the structure?

Yes. Relative file paths from the selected folder are kept and can be edited. ZIP entries retain file paths without requiring explicit folder entries. Empty folders are not included. Browser support for folder selection varies; Add files remains available.

How are duplicate or unsafe paths handled?

Repeated names are numbered when you add files. Edited or imported duplicate paths, case collisions, file/folder conflicts, absolute paths, dot components, backslashes, controls, reserved characters and device names are rejected. Use portable relative paths such as documents/readme.txt.

Can I extract directly to a folder?

This version downloads one selected file through the browser, flattening its name to the final path component. Download selected as ZIP preserves relative file paths in a new archive, which you can unpack using your operating system. It does not write directly to arbitrary disk folders.

Are HTML files executed in the preview?

No. UTF-8 content up to 200 KiB is shown literally in a read-only text field. Binary control bytes or invalid UTF-8 are rejected for preview. You can still download supported binary entries into their own applications.

Does inspection check every file’s content?

Inspection validates archive structure, names and declared sizes without inflating all content. Each file you extract, preview or repackage is then bounded during decompression and checked against its declared size and CRC32. Unselected content is not fully verified.

Which compression level should I choose?

Balanced suits ordinary text and documents. Fast reduces processing time; Maximum can take longer for little extra savings. No compression is fastest and works well for already compressed photos, media or highly repetitive content that exceeds the supported expansion ratio. Selected repackage exports use STORE.

Are my files uploaded or stored?

No processing upload or stored file history is used. Archives run in a cancellable browser worker with the existing local JSZip library. Website ads and analytics follow the privacy information.
