CHARACTER & GAME ASSETS

Character Sprite Sheet Creator

Design a character, choose its animations and download a ready-to-use sprite sheet for your game. Pick traits, clothes and gear: the built-in rig animates idle, walk, run, jump, attacks and more in pixel-art or smooth style.

Flying arrows and magic bolts are never drawn into the sheet: the ZIP adds them as separate projectile sprites with their spawn frame and position.

    How it works

    1. Build your character from body, face, hair, outfit, back and gear traits (tails, wings, horns, ears, earrings, glasses, gloves, shoulder armour, amulets and more), or start from one of 22 presets and press Randomize for ideas.
    2. Preview all 24 animations: idle, rest, walk, run, jump, fall, roll, dash, push, swim, two attacks, block, hurt, stunned, death, crouch, climb, cast, wave, sit, pick up, victory and talk. One bone rig drives all of them, so every trait you choose animates everywhere, and attacks adapt to the weapon you hold (sword, greatsword, katana, rapier, axe, hammer, mace, club, pickaxe, dagger, spear, trident, staff, wand, bow or fists).
    3. Choose the output: crisp pixel art (32–128 px frames) or smooth art (96–256 px), dark or coloured outline, padding, optional left-facing rows, and switches for the arrow on the string and the effects. Flying arrows and magic bolts come as separate projectile sprites in the ZIP (with spawn frame and position), and effects can also be exported as their own layer.
    4. Download the PNG sheet with its JSON frame data (format toolsorcerer-character-sheet v1), or a ZIP with the sheet, one strip per animation, optional GIF previews, your character file and a README.

Every frame shares the same size, the same fixed scale and the same pivot (the centre of the frame on the ground line), whatever traits you pick: a tall character stays taller than a short one, pixels are never resized, and animations line up in any engine that loads fixed-size frames. All artwork is drawn by this tool on your device; nothing is uploaded or stored. Save the character file or copy the share link to come back to your design later.

    Questions & answers

Do I need to upload character images?

No. Choose the built-in body, face, hair, outfit and gear options, or start from a preset. The tool draws and animates those parts to create your frames. It does not turn an uploaded photo into an animated character.

    What can I download?

A transparent PNG sprite sheet, JSON frame data, a GIF of the current preview, or a ZIP with the sheet, animation strips, character settings and a README. ZIP options include GIF previews and a separate effects layer. Flying arrows and magic bolts are separate projectile sprites in the ZIP.

How do I use the sheet in a game?

Load the PNG as a texture and use the JSON frame rectangles, timing and pivot to select each animation frame. The JSON is ToolSorcerer’s own format, not an engine-specific importer. The ZIP includes a README and per-animation PNG strips for simpler workflows.

Can I keep editing my character later?

Use Save character to download a character JSON file, then Load character to restore it. A share link contains the character settings in its URL fragment. Anyone with that link can open the design; the page does not automatically save a project.

    What sizes are supported?

Pixel-art frames range from 32 to 128 pixels, and smooth frames from 96 to 256 pixels. Padding ranges from 0 to 16 pixels. Export sheets are limited to 8,192 pixels per edge and 33,554,432 pixels total. Reduce the frame size or selected animations if a limit is reached. Sheets over 4,096 pixels per edge may exceed some game engines’ texture limits.

    Are character designs uploaded?

Character drawing, animation and exports happen in your browser without a processing upload or automatic project storage. Save the character file if you want to keep it. Website privacy information covers site services.
