Questions & answers

Why do some people pay one extra cent?

The total may not divide evenly into whole cents. The displayed number of people pays one extra cent so all shares add up.

Does the tip apply to the extra charge?

No. Only the entered bill is tipped. The extra charge is added afterward.

Should the bill include tax?

Enter the amount you want the tip to apply to. The tool does not decide whether your local convention includes tax.

Can I split without a tip?

Yes. Set the tip percentage to zero.

Does it support every currency?

It assumes 100 minor units per currency unit and two-decimal display. It is unsuitable for currencies with different minor-unit conventions.

Can I save the result?

Yes. Download the text result or JSON report, or copy the result. Editing inputs invalidates the previous result until you calculate again.

Is my input uploaded for processing?

Processing runs in a local browser worker with no input upload and no account. Website advertising and analytics are described in the privacy information.
