A DOCUMENT READY TO FOLD

PDF Booklet Maker

Arrange PDF pages two per side for a folded booklet. Review sheet order, choose left or right binding, and create a landscape PDF that keeps the source page artwork and text.

Document & printing

Static, unencrypted PDF up to 20 MiB / 200 pages. Forms and signatures are not supported; annotations and interactive links are omitted.

Each group is padded to a multiple of four. Groups form separate folded sections; assemble or bind them in order. Thick paper may need smaller groups.

Print a test sheet first

For automatic duplex: select landscape, actual size / 100%, and generally flip on the short edge. Disable the printer’s own booklet or multiple-pages-per-sheet setting: this PDF already has two pages per side.

Print the first front and back as a test, fold it, and confirm orientation and page order before printing everything. Printer drivers and feed paths differ; change flip edge or back rotation if your test needs it.

For manual duplex, generate front-only and back-only PDFs. Back sides use the same sheet order as fronts; re-feed or reverse your paper stack as your printer requires. Folding groups are shown in the arrangement.

Using PDF Booklet Maker

Impose two document pages on each sheet side, ready to fold into a booklet.

  1. Choose a static, unencrypted PDF up to 20 MiB and 200 pages.
  2. Choose paper, binding, folding groups, margins and gutter. Review numbered sheet pairs and blank padding.
  3. Create and inspect the saved PDF. Print one test sheet with landscape/100% and suitable duplex flip settings before printing all sheets.

Example

An eight-page left-bound booklet places pages 8 | 1 on the first front and 2 | 7 on its back.
A five-page document adds three blank positions so the folded booklet has eight page positions.

Questions & answers

Why are pages out of reading order?

Booklet imposition places outer and inner pages together so they read in order after double-sided printing, nesting and folding. The saved PDF is intended for printing, not normal on-screen reading.

What are folding groups?

Groups of up to 8, 16 or 32 document pages produce separate folded sections. The final group pads only to its next multiple of four. One-booklet mode nests every sheet together; thicker documents can be harder to fold neatly.

Why add blank pages?

Each sheet has two sides and two page positions per side, so each folded group needs a multiple of four. Missing positions become blank panels, without adding page text or numbers.

How do I print it?

Use landscape and actual size/100%. Automatic duplex usually uses short-edge flipping, but drivers differ. Disable additional booklet or multiple-pages-per-sheet printing. Print one front/back sheet as a test and adjust flip edge or back rotation if necessary.

Can I print manually on both sides?

Export front-only and back-only PDFs. Both use the same sheet order. Your printer determines stack direction and re-feeding, so test one sheet before handling the full stack. This tool does not promise a universal manual-duplex feed order.

Are the source pages rasterized?

No. Pages are embedded as PDF page artwork and fitted to each panel, preserving their text and vector content where present. Original CropBox/MediaBox intersection and standard right-angle page rotation are respected. Annotations, links and forms are not carried through.

Can I use right-to-left binding?

Yes. Right binding mirrors the left/right page pairs. Source page content itself is not mirrored; output follows document page positions rather than printed page labels.

Does this replace professional print software?

It provides basic booklet arrangement. It does not add bleed, trim marks or creep compensation. Margins/gutter and source proportions affect the final size; test output before a large print run.

Are PDFs uploaded?

Processing uses a local cancellable worker and existing PDF libraries. No processing upload or saved document history is used. Website ads and analytics follow the privacy information.
