Using Invoice Builder

Create a professional invoice with your logo, business and client details, an editable item table with discounts and several tax rates, due dates and payment instructions. Preview it live, pick a template and download a PDF or print it.

  1. Enter your business details and add your logo. Tick “Remember my business details” so new invoices start with them.
  2. Add the client under Bill to, then set the invoice number, date, payment terms (the due date is calculated for you), currency and an optional PO reference.
  3. Fill in the item table: description, quantity, unit price, discount % and tax %. Use “Apply tax % to all items”, an invoice-wide discount, shipping and any amount already paid.
  4. Add payment instructions and notes, choose the Modern, Classic or Minimal template, an accent color and A4 or Letter paper.
  5. Download the PDF or print it. Save the invoice in this browser, duplicate it for the next client with the next number, or export it as a file.

Example

Northwind Design Studio bills Acme Retail: brand design £1,200, a landing page £850 with 10% off, 12 photo edits at £15 (all 20% VAT) and brochures at £105 with no VAT, plus £12.50 shipping.
The invoice shows a £2,250.00 subtotal, VAT 20% of £429.00 on £2,145.00, a £2,691.50 total and, after a £500 deposit, £2,191.50 balance due.

Questions & answers

Is this invoice generator really free?

Yes. There is no sign-up, watermark or limit. Invoices are created in your browser, and the PDF is generated on your device.

Where are my invoices saved?

Only in this browser (local storage) when you press Save. They are not uploaded or synced. Use Export file to keep a backup or move invoices to another computer, and Import file to open them again.

Can I add my logo and change the design?

Yes. Add a PNG, JPG or WebP logo, choose the Modern, Classic or Minimal template, pick an accent color and set A4 or US Letter paper. The preview shows exactly what you will download.

How are taxes and discounts calculated?

Each line's discount is applied first. An invoice-wide discount is then shared across lines, and tax is added per rate, so you can mix rates such as 20% and 0%. Amounts are calculated in exact cents and rounded once per tax rate.

Which currencies are supported?

Around 50 currencies, including USD, EUR, GBP, SAR, AED, INR and JPY. Amounts follow each currency's decimals, for example none for JPY and three for KWD.

Why does the PDF say some characters are not available?

Download PDF embeds Liberation Sans, which covers Latin, Greek and Cyrillic text. For Arabic, Hebrew, Chinese or other scripts, use Print and choose “Save as PDF”, which uses your system fonts.

Is this a legally compliant invoice?

The builder gives you the usual fields (numbers, dates, tax IDs, tax rates). Legal invoice requirements differ by country, so check what your tax authority requires and enter the correct rates.

Can I make the next invoice faster?

Press Duplicate to copy the current invoice with the next number and today's date, or New invoice to start fresh with your saved business details.
