Questions & answers

What makes the font scale fluid?

Each step uses clamp with a rem minimum, a rem-plus-vw middle term and a rem maximum. Sizes interpolate between the two viewport targets.

Can I use it for headings and body text?

Yes. Apply the exported font-step variables to your selectors. Negative steps work for small labels; larger steps suit headings.

What does the root size mean?

It is the pixel value used to convert your targets to rem. Changing the actual root font affects the rem terms.

Does the preview resize my page?

No. It calculates sizes at your simulated width and renders sample text in a contained panel.

Does clamp guarantee accessibility?

No. Relative units help adaptation, but you still need to test text zoom, line wrapping and layout at large text sizes.

Why reject some ratio combinations?

Every maximum font size must be at least its minimum. Very different ratios can reverse the smaller scale steps. Adjust base sizes or ratios until the scale is consistent.

Is my input uploaded for processing?

Processing runs in a local browser worker with no input upload and no account. Website advertising and analytics are described in the privacy information.
