Flashcard Maker & Study
Load question-and-answer pairs, reveal answers and choose which cards you know or want to review again. Shuffle a deck, undo a choice and keep your cards as a reusable file.
1. Load your flashcards
Every record needs exactly two nonempty text fields. Quote CSV fields containing commas or line breaks. Up to 500 cards, 2,000 characters per side and 100,000 combined card characters. CSV source allows 250,000 characters to accommodate quoting.
Use JSON for a lossless reusable deck; re-open it here later. Protected CSV may add apostrophes to formula-like text, including leading minus signs. Study progress is temporary and is not saved in the deck.
2. Study your deck
No deck loaded.
Reveal before marking a card. Review again returns it to the queue; Know removes it for this session. Skip moves it to the back without counting a study decision. Undo restores the previous question/answer state. Focus the card: Space reveals, 1 reviews again and 2 marks known.
Plain text is shown literally, with automatic text direction for question and answer. This is a manual review queue, not timed spaced repetition or a measured learning score. Source edits clear the active deck; shuffle applies when starting/restarting. No processing upload or saved deck history. Download your deck to keep it. Using Flashcard Maker & Study
Turn literal question/answer pairs into a manual study queue, with clear answer reveal, review choices and reusable local deck files.
- Paste two-column CSV/TSV or open a local deck. Set delimiter/header handling; JSON imports use this tool's version1 deck format.
- Load the deck, reveal an answer and choose Know or Review again. Skip moves a card back; Undo restores the previous choice.
- Restart with optional shuffle for another session. Download JSON to keep the literal deck or CSV for spreadsheet editing.
Example

Questions & answers
What happens after Review again or Know?
Review again puts the current card at the back of the queue. Know removes it for this session. The session completes when every card has been marked known. These are your choices, not a measured knowledge score.
Is this spaced repetition?
No. It is a manual review queue within one session. It does not schedule reviews across days or implement a timed spaced-repetition algorithm.
What does Skip do?
It moves the current card to the back without counting a study decision. You may skip before revealing the answer. Know and Review again require showing the answer first.
Can I undo a study choice?
Yes. Up to 50 decisions/skips are kept in temporary undo history, including the queue, known cards and answer-reveal state. Restarting or loading a deck resets the history.
How do CSV and JSON imports work?
CSV/TSV needs exactly two nonempty fields per record, with optional header handling. Quoted fields may contain commas or line breaks. JSON must be a version1 deck exported by this tool; it preserves literal text. JSON import does not restore a previous study session.
What are the limits?
1–500 cards, up to 2,000 characters per question or answer, and 100,000 combined card characters. CSV source allows 250,000 characters for quoting and files up to 400 KiB. Exported JSON imports allow up to 1 MiB.
Are formatting and HTML interpreted?
No. Text, spacing and line breaks remain literal. HTML tags and Markdown are displayed as characters. Each side uses automatic text direction for multilingual decks.
Why can protected CSV change some text?
Spreadsheet formula protection may prefix formula-like cells with an apostrophe, including leading minus signs. JSON is the recommended lossless deck format. For trusted data, disable protection if you need raw CSV text.
What are the keyboard controls?
Focus the card itself. Space reveals the answer, 1 chooses Review again and 2 chooses Know. The decision keys work after revealing. Buttons remain usable through ordinary keyboard focus.
Are decks saved or uploaded?
No processing upload or saved deck history is needed. Sessions are temporary. Download a deck file before leaving if you want to keep it. Website ads and analytics follow the privacy information.
