Microphone off

Press Record. Your browser asks for microphone permission only then.

Scope and limits

Recording happens in your browser and nothing is uploaded. Maximum 256 MiB per take. The Original download uses the format your browser records (WebM or MP4), and WAV is uncompressed. Project files are not used, because recordings are only kept until you close the page.

Using Audio Recorder

Record microphone audio with a live level display, pause and resume, several named takes and Original or WAV downloads.

  1. Choose a time limit and any microphone options, then press Record and allow microphone access.
  2. Watch the level display, and use Pause and Resume to continue the same take.
  3. Press Stop, then play the take below and give it a name.
  4. Download the Original or WAV file for each take you want to keep, because nothing is saved automatically.

Example

Speak briefly, check the level meter, pause and resume, then stop and download the take.

Questions & answers

Which format is downloaded?

The browser chooses a supported MediaRecorder format, normally WebM/Opus or MP4 audio. The filename follows the actual container. Use an audio converter for other formats.

What can I do with Audio Recorder?

Record microphone audio with live level feedback, pause, playback and downloadable takes.

What are the important limits?

Processing and recording use browser APIs. Supported codecs vary. Permissions are requested only when starting capture. Files and recordings need explicit downloads; they are not saved automatically.

Does it save my work automatically?

No. Download your project or output before closing the page. Media capture and processing workspaces export files directly.

Can I use it on desktop and mobile?

The workspace adapts to screen width. A large desktop screen is useful for detailed editing. Browser support and available memory affect media workflows.

Do I need to upload the output to ToolSorcerer?

No. Export your result to your device. This tool does not publish or deploy the result to another website.
